A botanist is studying the effect of light on leaf growth in the plant species Arabidopsis thaliana. Thaliana plants are grown in a greenhouse under varying lengths of artificial daylight, with treatments varying from 2 hours of daylight to 20 hours of daylight, per 24 hour period.
